Liturgical
Liturgy has traditionally been defined as the “work of the people.” When we say that our services are liturgical this means that our order of worship calls everyone to participate, not just the leadership. Our worship is structured to reflect the story of the gospel every Lord’s Day through the motions of traditional liturgical forms. We invite you to celebrate the good news of Jesus by joining with us as we conform our lives to His through worship.
What should I wear?
Whatever you want to meet Jesus in.
Traditional
While our aim is to follow the biblical form of worship, our services tend to reflect a traditional feel. We sing from a hymnal, confess historic creeds, celebrate the sacraments, and incorporate numerous scripture readings. We believe you will find these motions to be reviving rather than rigid. The countenance of our worshipers reflects a heart of joy. Smiles, rejoicing, and laughter are often the transitions between the motions of our liturgy.
How long does the service last?
The entire service lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. The sermon is typically around thirty-five minutes.
Family Friendly
Let the children come! Like Jesus, we invite our children to encounter Him through the worship service with us. We follow a family integrated model of worship which means we welcome making yourself comfortable in whatever ways you need to be able to worship together as a family. You may see mothers pacing with babies, grandpas bouncing little ones on their knee, and children making ocassional noises as they do.
What time?
Sunday School at Village starts at 9:30. Worship begins at 10:30, but we encourage you to arrive a couple of minutes before. The doors at Village open directly into the sanctuary so if you want to avoid unwanted attention it may be best to arrive prior to 10:30.
